Live cricket information on smartcrictv India vs England

smartcric tv live cricket test India vs England

The first Test between India and England went the visitors' way as they comfortably won by 227 runs. It was a thorough performance from England and their confidence would be soaring going into the second Test match. They were led by a superb double century with the bat by Joe Root while their bowlers came to the party on both occasions. First, it was Dom Bess and then Jack Leach and James Anderson were superb in the second. Anderson was special with his reverse-swinging deliveries. Many thought that their decision to continue batting till late on Day 4 would backfire but the bowlers vindicated that decision with a superb bowling performance in the second innings and they would hope that they can continue that in the second game as well. There is no need for changes in their squad but England adopt a rotation policy and they might bring in Stuart Broad in place of either Jofra Archer or James Anderson. It will be interesting to see whom they replace. The hosts, on the other hand, were humbled in their first game by a big margin but one would expect that they will make a comeback in the next game. They had a tough outing with both bat and ball in the first Test and they were punished. The decision to play Shahbaz Nadeem did not work and while Ishant Sharma, Ashwin, and Bumrah toiled hard, the rewards were not reaped. The batting had a tough time as on both occasions, they did not get settled and collapsed big time. Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane had poor outings and they would hope for a change in form in the second Test while Kohli returned to some sort of form in the second innings and would hope to continue that. In terms of team combination, Axar Patel is fit and is all set to replace Shahbaz Nadeem in the XI while there is a case of bringing in Mayank Agarwal in place of Rohit Sharma but will India replace Sharma after a failure in the first Test? We will have to wait and see. There is another good news as crowds are returning to the Indan stadiums as 50 percent capacity have been allowed to visit the stadiums for the second Test. Who will come out on top?
